About Us
Gabor
Instructor & Owner
Gabor, the founder of Shanti Divers, was born in Hungary, a landlocked country and started diving in the year of 2003 and immediately got obsessed with the sport. After diving at many locations of the world he decided to go professional in scuba diving. He became a PADI Divemaster by the end of 2004.
During the following years he completed two seasons in Croatia and than studied and worked in Thailand where he received his PADI Open Water Instructor and Emergency First Response (CPR) Instructor degree in 2008.
Gabor than became Specialty Instructor in many different specialty area, including Night, Underwater Navigation, Search and Recovery, Wreck, Deep and Enriched Air (Nitrox) diving. Based on that in 2012 he upgraded to PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and in the same year he crossed over to SSI (Scuba Schools International) and started actively teaching diving in this system, at first in Cambodia.
After working in India as well at many locations, including Goa, Murudeshwar (Netrani Island), Mumbai and Havelock in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Gabor gained significant experience regarding the needs of the Indian market and he decided to open his own Dive Center in 2017.
There starts the history of Shanti Divers, a registered Dive Center by SSI.
Krisztina
Advanced Diver & Owner
Krisztina (pronounced just like Christina), Gabor's wife, is a highly experienced scuba diver with Advanced Open Water Diver certification and several logged dives. She is a co-owner and director of Shanti Divers from day one.
Krisztina, apart from loving the clear water underwater environment with great visibility, also finds passion in observing the more hidden, humble marine life in the shallow that is available in our area.
She mostly takes care of the logistics and the shallow water skill practice with our try scuba diving guests. If there is time between dives and you are interested, she may even teach you a few basic floating and snorkeling skills.
Andris
Divemaster
Andris, the son of Krisztina and Gabor (wow, isn't it a family business?) is a certified Divemaster. He started diving as soon as he could, at the age of 10. No wonder, despite his young age, he has hundreds of logged dives under his belt. He was an active member of the underwater survey team of Marine Conservation Cambodia for more than a year on the island of Koh Seh so he has impressive background in marine life research.
He is an honorary member now because he started his university studies in Europe. He used to fulfill all the duties of a Divemaster at Shanti Divers and helped with everything including guiding dives, logistics, equipment maintenance and every need of our guests. We miss him!
